After the critically acclaimed Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Carbon’, director-cinematographer
Venu will be teaming up with the actors
Prithviraj Sukumaran,
Manju Warrier, and
Asif Ali for the upcoming film ‘Kaapa’. According to the reports, the film will start rolling from May 20th onwards and the first scheduled shoot will reportedly commence in Trivandrum.

According to the sources, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is now currently busy with the shooting for his upcoming Blessy’s directorial film ‘Aadujeevitham’, will join the first scheduled shoot of ‘Kaapa’ from the month of June onwards.
An official confirmation on this is yet to be announced by the makers.
Helmed by the veteran director Venu, ‘Kaapa’ is penned down by the veteran writer GR Indugopan and the story explores the dark underbelly of Thiruvananthapuram where rival thugs clash in gang wars to gain control over the suburbs and slums.

Mammootty unveiled an intriguing motion poster for the film, and the red color tone hints at a dark and violent undertone to the storyline. Actor Nandhu became the narrator of the short motion poster that introduced various locations such as Padmanabha Swamy Temple, the Secretariat, the Kovalam lighthouse, the Palayam mosque, the Connemara market, the central railway station, and the East Fort.
The music of ‘Kaapa’ is composed by Justin Varghese and the cinematography is handled by Sanu John Varghese. The popular director- editor Mahesh Narayanan is in charge of handling the cuts of the film ‘Kaapa’. The film also features the actors Indrans, and Anna Ben in pivotal roles.
