Praveen Rana’s upcoming movie Choran directed by Santo Anthikad is about a thief who’s good at heart. The movie that went on floors on November 24 was for 15 nights from 6 pm to 6 am. The movie was shot only during nights to ensure the dark mode which is suitable for the story. "Choran would probably be the first movie in India to have been shot throughout nights," said Santo Anthikad.

Choran is the second outing of Praveen Rana who plays the protagonist in the film. His first movie, Anan, also featured Indrans and Manikandan Achary. Chunkzz and Porinju Mariam Jose fame Remya Panicker plays the female protagonist in the film. It's her second movie with Sinoj Varghese of Angamaly Diaries, who also plays a major role in Choran. Sinoj said “Shooting for Choran was a challenging experience as it went on for 15 days at one go and that too only during nights,” he says.
Choran, produced by Prajith K M, is scripted by Stanly Antony and photographed by Suresh Babu. Choran is the fifth movie of Kiran Jose, a lyricist-cum-composer who penned and gave music to a couple of recent hits.
As per the makers the theme of the movie is timely when sister Abhaya who was murdered 28 years back finally got justice. “A thief named Raju played an integral role in getting justice to the family. The central theme of the movie revolves around a thief who's good at heart and who too happened to be at an unexpected spot and fight the bad witnessed there,” the team said.
