Prakash Raj is the chief guest for the closing ceremony of the 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which will conclude today, December 15. The closing ceremony will be held at Nishagandhi Auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram at 6 pm.
Acclaimed Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award this year.
The awards for the films in the International Competition category, NETPAC, FIPRESCI, and KR Mohanan Endowment will also be presented during the closing ceremony. Cuban Ambassador Alejandro Simancas Marin will also grace the festival. Filmmakers Jorge Luis Sanchez, Alejandro Gil, and producer Rosa Maria Valdez, representing the International Jury, will be honoured along with Cuban delegates.
"Wind of Rhythm," a Carnatic folk, and cinematic fusion will be performed at 5 pm, before the closing ceremony.

VK Prashant MLA will preside over the event. Mayor Arya Rajendran, Cultural Affairs Secretary Mini Antony, Jury Chairperson and Portuguese Director Rita Azevedo Gomes, Chalachitra Academy Chairman Ranjith, Festival Curator Golda Sellam, KSFDC Chairman Shaji N Karun, Kerala Cultural Activists' Welfare Fund Board Chairman Madhupal, District Panchayat President Adv. D Suresh Kumar, Chalachitra Academy Vice Chairman Premkumar, and Chalachitra Academy Secretary C Ajoy, among others will attend the closing ceremony.
Hosted by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, IFFK commenced on December 8 this year, 2023. One of the most prestigious film festivals in India, this year IFFK opened with Sudanese film ‘Goodbye Julia’.
