’ will be releasing in theatres. The filmmaker has assured that the team is waiting for the theatres to re-open so that the audience could watch the movie at its best audio-visual quality.

“To those who were always asking about ‘Vellam’ and enquiring about its release, whether we are planning for direct OTT release. I can’t express my joy your inquiries bring. I have been receiving the love ever since I announced my collaboration with Jayasurya, after our ‘Captain’. I can’t thank enough for the support you all gave during the release of the poster, teaser, and Ananya’s track ‘Pulariyil Achan’. We were expecting ‘Vellam’ as a Vishu release in April,” Prajesh Sen said.

The filmmaker also added that the pandemic and the lockdown has also affected the entertainment industry. “Now that we are getting several reliefs in lockdown, we are expecting that the theatres might also open soon. The entertainment industry is a part of our daily lives,” he added.

The director also revealed that the post-production process of the movie has been completed. “The producers of ‘Vellam’ - Friendly Productions have decided to release the movie in theatres once we all overcome the crisis and theatres reopen. Central Pictures are our exhibition partners. I can assure you that the theatre experience of ‘Vellam will be great as the entire movie is recorded in sync sound. Hope that the audience will wat for it. It is important that everyone stays safe. More surprises on the way,” Prajesh Sen said concluding the note.

Directed by Prajesh Sen, ‘Vellam’ is an ambitious project of Jayasurya as his first collaboration with the same director bagged him a Kerala State award for the best actor. Jayasurya and Samyuktha Menon will be essaying the lead characters in the movie.
