Filmmaker G Prajesh Sen remembers late footballer VP Sathyan on his birthday. The director has penned a note paying tribute to VP Sathyan, the former captain of the Indian football team.

G Prajesh Sen has a more emotional connect with VP Sathyan, as he has made a biopic on the footballer. The movie portrayed the eventful life and death of VP Sathyan and was titled ‘Captain’.It had Jayasurya essaying the role of a footballer. Anu Sithara played the role of VP Sathyan's wife. The movie was released in 2018 and discussed his career, personal life and speculations about his suicide. The film also earned Jayasurya the Kerala State award for the best actor. The movie won the hearts of the audience as well as critics too.
Meanwhile, Prajesh Sen has announced his next ‘Vellam’, which will also see Jayasurya in the lead role.
