Post-production work of Mohanlal’s ‘Barroz’ resumes in Mumbai

Mohanlal's highly anticipated directorial debut, 'Barroz,' is nearing completion as post-production work has resumed in Mumbai. Based on Jijo Punnoose’s renowned novel 'Barroz: Guardian Of D’Gama’s Treasure,' the 3D fantasy film features Mohanlal himself in the titular role.

The latest updates reveal that the film's post-production is being finalized at a prominent studio in Mumbai. A video of Mohanlal in Mumbai airport for the ‘Barroz’ final post-production works, is now circulating on social media.


Recently, a private screening of the long-awaited 'Barroz' 3D trailer was held at a PVR screen in Mumbai. Mohanlal attended the screening along with renowned cinematographer Santhosh Sivan and other key team members.

The 'Barroz' trailer is expected to be officially launched at the IIFA Utsavam event, scheduled for September 6, 2024. The star-studded event will take place in Abu Dhabi on September 6th and 7th, 2024. An official announcement regarding the trailer release date is anticipated soon.

A significant portion of the film's post-production, particularly the VFX work, was carried out at Sony Studios Hollywood. Earlier this year, Mohanlal took a brief hiatus from his acting career to personally oversee these crucial elements in the USA.

The production journey of 'Barroz' faced some creative challenges. Original writer Jijo Punnoose exited the project due to creative differences with Mohanlal. Subsequently, Kalavoor Ravikumar joined as an additional scriptwriter, contributing to the film's screenplay.

The film's director of photography is the acclaimed Santhosh Sivan, while the music is composed by the talented Lydian Nadhaswaram. Prithviraj Sukumaran was also supposed to play a major role in the film, but unfortunately, the ‘Aadujeevitham’ actor backed out of the project due to work commitments.
