Popular action director Jolly Bastian, known for his work in the South Indian film industry, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, due to a heart attack at the age of 57. Bastian, who worked in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Punjabi languages, choreographed fight sequences for over 400 films including 'Angamaly Diaries', 'Kammattipaadam', 'Bangalore Days', 'Operation Java', 'Masterpiece', 'Highway', and 'Johnnie Walker'. Born on September 24, 1966, in Alappuzha, Bastian began his cinema journey as a stunt double for Kannada superstar V Ravichandran, eventually becoming the most sought-after action director in Kannada. FEFKA’s Director Union and Bhavana Studios mourned his loss. Actor-producer Vijay Babu reminisced about their collaborations. The funeral is scheduled for Friday, December 29, in Bangalore.
