After a dream run on the small screen, actress Poojitha Menon is now concentrating on her film career. The actress, we hear, will play a crucial role in
St Marysyile Kolapathakam, a crime thriller helmed by S N Shijoy.
After her debut in Nee Ko Njaa Cha, which revolved around three friends, offers started pouring in for the popular TV anchor. Talking about her role in the crime thriller, she says, “I play Veena, an IT professional and a good friend of Aparna Nair, who plays the central character in the film. St Marysyile Kolapathakam revolves around a murder mystery that unfolds within 48 hours; the shoot will begin soon.”
Poojitha has signed up yet another film, which will also see her play an IT professional. Titled the Other Side, the movie is helmed by Mohan Roop. “It is about the marital problems that arise in a relationship. Studies show that divorces are increasing in Kerala; the director has done a study on the same. My role is that of an IT professional who falls in love and gets married to an IT guy. Aditya plays my husband in it. Lena, Sarath Kumar and Nedumudi Venu are the other actors in the film, which will go on floors in January,” she says.
The actress is trying to pick up diverse roles and says, “In Maramkothi, I played a thamburatti. I also have Loka Samastha by Sajith Shivan set for release in which I sport a naadan look. It is a female-oriented subject; my character is in search of her brother who is a Naxalite.”
