‘Plaavila’ film is announced

Director Gireesh Kunnammal’s upcoming film ‘

Plaavila

’ will have many newbies as part of its cast, alongside renowned actors, the makers say.

alongside others. The film has a lullaby written by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri and a ghazal track by Rafeeq Ahamed, which are composed by Dr Kanjangad Ramachandran.

The film also has songs by veteran singer G Venugopal, Madhu Balakrishnan and Sithara Krishnakumar. Prakash Vadikkal will write the story, screenplay and dialogues of 'Plaavila.'

The cinematographer of the film is V K Pradeep. Kumar Edappal is the costume designer of the movie, which has Kamal Payyannur as the Chief Associate director. V Sajan is the editor of ‘Plaavila.’

The director says that due to the restrictions imposed across the State to prevent the spread of the Covid – 19 pandemic, the makers are planning to complete the shooting of the film in a single location, employing less than 50 members.

The film’s director Gireesh has previously directed the movies ‘Snehaadaram,’ ‘Chuzhalikkaattu’ and ‘Dhanayathra.’ While his film ‘Chuzhalikkaattu,’ which was released in the year 2012 had N Jayakrishnan, Anjana Menon and Babitha in the pivotal roles, ‘Dhanayathra,’ released in 2016, had actors Riyaz Khan and Swetha Menon in major roles. It was a film that had Kanjangad Ramachandran as the music composer, Venugopal as the cinematographer and Rajamani on background music. A woman-oriented movie, it was reportedly based on a political scam that had happened in Kerala.
