After its successful run in cinemas, Mukesh starrer ‘Philip’s’ is heading for its digital release. The family drama featuring Mukesh in the lead role will start streaming on Amazon Prime, Manorama Max, and Simply South starting January 19, 2024. Alfred Kurian Joseph, the director of the film, confirmed the streaming date via his social media handle.
In a note shared on Instagram, the director wrote, “Philip’s journey concluded its 43-day theatrical run. I am so grateful for the incredible theatre run, especially in these challenging times when many opt for OTT. Thank you to everyone who experienced it in theaters. We’re thrilled to announce its upcoming release on OTT on January 19, 2024. Stay tuned!”
Scripted by Alfred Kurian and Mathukutty Xavier, ‘Philip's’ also featured actors Innocent, Noble Babu Thomas, Navani Devanand, Quinn Vipin, Asha Madathil, Sreedhanya, Ajit Koshy, Ansha Mohan, Charlie, and Sacchin Nachi, among others, in pivotal roles.
‘Philip’s’ marked veteran Mukesh’s 300th film. The family drama revolves around Philip (Mukesh), a widower, living with his three children, Basil, Blessy, and Betty, in Bengaluru. The film received impressive reviews, especially from the family audience, as many found it a simple feel-good entertainer. ‘Philip’s’ was released theatrically on December 1, 2023.
