One of the viewers commented that the M Padmakumar directorial is a decent thriller that is set in a familiar setting filled with backstories and emotions that helped in soaring up the engaging factor of the film. The film is also said to have a decent twist and an engaging second half with some stellar performances from the leads Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrajith Sukumaran.

Some of the viewers are also pointing out some flaws in the film ‘Pathaam Valavu’ as it’s said to have lost its thrilling nature at some points and some even said that the first half is strictly average where the director is setting up the plot and characters for the third act. Another netizen said that ‘Pathaam Valavu’, even with all the thrilling and emotional elements, won't stay with you forever, meaning that it's a good one-time watch.

Compiling all these first responses of the Netizens, M Padmakumar’s ‘Pathaam Valavu’ seems to be a decent thriller that actually falls short of what the director has achieved with the Joju George starrer ‘Joseph’. Overall ‘Pathaam Valavu’, even with some flaws, can be considered as one of the good additions to M Padmakumar’s filmography.

The film was released on 13 May 2022 and was scripted by the ‘Night Drive’ fame Abhilash Pillai. The film features the actors Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrajith Sukumaran, Ajmal Ameer, Shaju KS, Jayakrishnan, and Aditi Ravi in pivotal roles.
