The investigative thriller ‘Partners,’ starring Dhyan Sreenivasan, is struggling at the box office. Despite the initial anticipation, the film has failed to connect with audiences, as evidenced by its lackluster collection figures.

According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Partners’ has only managed to garner Rs 16 lakhs worldwide in its first 9 days, with India Net collections standing at Rs 14 lakhs. On its ninth day, the movie minted a mere Rs 1 lakh.

The film, directed by Naveen John, was released in theaters on July 5. Based on true events, it marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil actress Satna Titus. Despite the intriguing premise, the film’s performance indicates it may struggle to recover its production costs, adding it to the list of underwhelming films in Dhyan Sreenivasan’s career.

‘Partners’ is set against the backdrop of a rural bank and delves into the complexities of financial fraud. The film's narrative is rooted in Kasaragod, reflecting John’s personal connection to the region. Most of the shooting took place in Adoor Pandi village, located along the Kerala-Karnataka border, adding an authentic touch to the film's setting.

This film marks Naveen John’s directorial debut. He previously wrote the 2018 film ‘Ira.’ ‘Partners’ boasts a strong supporting cast, including Kalabhavan Shajohn, Rony David Raj, Prasanth Alexander, Madhusudhana Rao, Satna Titus, Neeraja Das, and Devaki Rajendran.
