In V K Prakashs upcoming film Poppins, Padmapriya will be seen playing a tribal woman, and she will be paired opposite Indrajith. The story, titled
Chorunna Koora (leaking hut), is one of the six segments in the film, each of which examines the relationship between a man and a woman across different age groups. The segment featuring Padmapriya is set in an unspecified period and is folkish in character, says Mridul S, line producer of the film.
Each of the segment is adaptations of plays by Jayasankar Kalavoor, and is set in different periods, disconnected from each other. The main thread of the film has Shankar Ramakrishnan who dreams of a making it big in filmdom. One day, he leaves his mundane life to pursue his dreams. The different segments make up all his dreams and memories.
The film is a purely commercial one, stresses Mridul. Since the films have different settings, a lot of importance has been given to the costumes and art direction. We ensured that the script was circulated among technicians on board, since we wanted all of them to understand what exactly was required of them.
