'Padayaatra' wraps 40-day shoot: Mammootty and Adoor Gopalakrishnan reunite after 33 years
The shooting of 'Padayaatra', the much-anticipated collaboration between Mammootty and legendary filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, has officially been completed. The makers wrapped the entire film in a single 40-day schedule, beginning on January 23 and completing without any interruptions.
Announcing the completion, Mammootty shared a picture with the crew on his social media handles. His caption read, "#Padayaatra PACK UP !!!."

'Padayaatra' marks the eighth production venture under Mammootty's company and the script is jointly written by Adoor Gopalakrishnan and K. V. Mohankumar. The film features Grace Antony, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, and Aliyar in important roles.
The technical team includes Shehnad Jalal as the cinematographer and Praveen Prabhakaran as the editor. Production design is handled by Shaji Naduwail, while Mujeeb Majeed, known for his work in Kalankavaal, is composing the music.
The release of 'Padayaatra' is expected to happen only after the arrival of another major project 'Patriot'. The film stars Mammootty alongside Mohanlal, bringing the “Big Ms” together after more than 13 years. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the spy-action thriller is slated for a global release on April 23, 2026.

Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Mammootty reunion after decades
Adoor Gopalakrishnan last directed Mammootty more than three decades ago and reports say that the movie is set during the 1970s–80s which is a period rich in socio-political transitions in Kerala.
