Pa.Va challenges Anoop Menon, Murali Gopy
Actors Anoop Menon and Murali Gopy have a knack for slipping into different kinds of roles with ease. However, their latest movie Pa.Va — Pappanekkurichum Varkkeyekkurichum has proved to be challenging for them in more ways than one.
“The film is probably the biggest experiment we both have done so far,” says Anoop Menon, adding, “The characters have been fleshed out from a fable, and it’s rare to get such roles, which are so unlike you.

It gives you an opportunity to do something new.”
The movie, directed by Sooraj Tom, will also see the actors playing octogenarians. “It is a love story spanning several decades, starting from the 1930s till the current era and we play different phases of their lives,” says the actor.
The film will also see the two actors known for their serious onscreen roles, playing humourous characters. “It’s a light-hearted film and the humour is the highlight,” says Anoop. Pa.Va also provided an opportunity for the real-life friends to bond. “Our friendship goes back to a long time, from the days I used to attend film festivals as an aspiring actor,” says Anoop. “I doubt if Murali was ever an aspirant because he is the son of a great actor.”
The Trivandrum Lodge scribe also lauds Murali Gopy for his talent in scriptwriting. “I regard him as one of the finest writers we have,” says Anoop. “Contrary to his daring and intense scripts, Murali is a very easy guy to gel with. We get along well.”
