Oru Thavala Paranja Kadha,’ recently shared a video online, urging people to help Indian cinema and small screen.


In the video, the actress says, “The Indian film and TV industry have come to a standstill and are being adversely hit, by this unusual trial period due to Covid – 19. The result is abandoned TV sets and locations, cancellation of shootings, postponement of releases, complete closure of theatres, unemployment of cast and crew. We are facing it, but we will come out of it, please help the Indian cinema and small screen.”

Saleema, who had come back to acting after many years in 2019 through the film ‘Abhayaarthikal’ in Malayalam, also has movies in other industries to release. A few other upcoming movies of the actress are ‘Araichi,’ ‘Chillu,’ ‘Nalinakaanthi’ and ‘Ottayaan.’ Saleema, who debuted in the movie industry in the year 1986, has acted with almost all major actors of Malayalam industry including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu, Seema, Devan, Suresh Gopi, Kamal Haasan, Monisha, Vineeth, Thilakan and others.

In the film ‘Munthiri Monchan Oru Thavala Paranja Katha,’ she had famously come back together on screen with her ‘Aaranyakam’ co-star, Malayalam actor Devan. In an earlier interview with us, she had said that she left the movie industry after her film ‘Mahaayaanam’ to focus more on business, which was her family’s interest.
