Our marriage will not affect Archana’s career

All eyes and ears are on the newly-engaged couple — actress Archana Kavi and stand-up comedian Abish Mathew.
Since their engagement recently, the buzz has been around their wedding date, theme, attire and also the honeymoon destination! We caught up with the husband-to-be to get the lowdown on their plans. The usually effusive Abish, though, remains coy this time. “We haven’t decided anything except that the wedding will be next year.It’s still way too early to discuss the wedding plans,” he says.
However, the stand-up comedian is clear about the couple’s career plans, post wedding. “Nothing will change, apart from our relationship status, of course!” he gushes. “Archana will obviously continue with her career. She’s looking forward to taking up good projects. I will continue to support her to live out her dreams.”
It seems his jam-packed schedule is the reason why the young comedian is putting his wedding planning on the backburner. He is currently busy with his show Son of Abish, an hour-long energetic performance featuring musical and improv comedy. “It’s modelled around a talk show and has several elements including guest interviews. The secret to entertaining audience is keeping the content fresh and timely.”
Will we see Archana tagging along for his shows in the future? “We have not discussed anything of that sort yet as we work in two different industries. But, if something interesting comes up, I will surely ask her to chip in.”
