‘Ottakomban’ UPDATE: Suresh Gopi’s birthday poster sets social media on fire; a wild welcome

Superstar Suresh Gopi's 65th birthday turned extra special this year as the makers of his upcoming film 'Ottakomban' released a powerful birthday special poster.



Titled aptly to suit the larger-than-life persona of the actor, 'Ottakomban' — which translates to “The Lone Tusker” — is a mass action entertainer currently under production.


The film is bankrolled by Sree Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies and is directed by debutant Mathews Thomas.






As fans across the country poured in their birthday wishes for the beloved actor, the crew dropped a striking new poster and a short video from the set, both of which have gone viral on social media.


With the tagline “Battalion, get ready! Ottakomban arrives!”, the poster hints at a high-octane, action-heavy film that marks Suresh Gopi’s return in full force.



Packed star cast and big production ambitions



While Suresh Gopi headlines the project, actress Abhinaya plays the female lead. The ensemble cast is stacked with big names, including Lal, Indrajith Sukumaran, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vijayaraghavan, Lalu Alex, Kabir Duhan Singh, Johny Antony, Biju Pappan, and Meghana Raj.


The film also features over 70 actors, with a mix of seasoned performers and promising newcomers.


The film’s script is penned by Shibin Francis, with visuals captured by renowned cinematographer Shaji Kumar. Music is composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar, while Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma handles the lyrics.


'JSK' faces issues


As 'Ottakomban' is all set to arrive, Suresh Gopi's upcoming film 'Janaki Vs State of Kerala' is facing hurdles. According to reports, the censor board's revision committee has sought to change the movie's name. The makers of the film have said that it's impossible to change the name of the titular character, which has been uttered over 90 times in the film. 'JSK' is yet to get a release date.
