Omar Lulu’s action film ‘Powerstar’ starts rolling

The Mollywood action superstar Babu Antony is making his second innings in the Malayalam film industry as the main lead and this time the ace action star is teaming up with the director Omar Lulu for the film ‘Powerstar’. Recently the makers announced that the film started its shoot on the last day in Kannur, Kerala.

The switch-on function was held in a never-seen-before manner as thousands crowded on Kannur Payyambalam beach to witness the function. The DJ party conducted by

was one of the major attractions of the event. During the function, the director Omar Lulu introduced the cast and crew of the film ‘Powerstar’.

Scripted by the late writer Dennis Joseph, ‘Powerstar’ will be a Malayalam- Kannada bilingual film. As per the reports, the story which focuses on action is based on cocaine smuggling in Karnataka and will also feature popular Sandalwood actors.

Different from Omar Lulu’s previous directorial ventures, ‘Powerstar’ will be a complete action package with fewer comedy elements. Omar Lulu revealed in a previous interview that the action star Babu Antony will be sporting a look that reminisces his vintage 90s look. The director also said that ‘Powerstar’ will mark the comeback of the veteran actor Babu Antony as a lead superstar.

Apart from Babu Antony, the film also features the actors Baburaj, Riyaz Khan, Shammi Thilakan, Abu Salim, and Hareesh Kanaran in pivotal roles.
