Ahead of its big screen debut, the makers of 'Olu' (She) have unveiled the trailer of the movie. The video gives a glimpse of how Maya inspires the artist in
Shane Nigam. The trailer focuses on Maya, the girl who lives under the water, whom the world refers to as 'Olu'. The film narrates the story of her affection for the painter and their platonic love. The gripping trailer comes with a soulful background score.
Helmed by ace filmmaker Shaji N Karun, the movie is a blend of reality and fantasy.
Shane Nigam plays a painter in the film and Esther essays the character of Maya, who is raped by a group of men and thrown in the backwaters of Kerala. The pregnant girl is submerged in the remains of a Buddhist monastery and lives for 10 full moons. She can see the world only during a full moon. The movie showcases the platonic love between this Rajasthani gypsy girl and the painter. The story progresses as she asks the young artist to draw her dream!
Bankrolled by AV Anoop, late M J Radhakrishnan cranked the lens. He also bagged the National award for best cinematography for the movie. Veteran Sreekar Prasad has handled the edits of the movie and Issac Thomas Kottukappally has composed the music. ‘Olu’ is scheduled to hit the screens on September 20.
