Actors Noobin Johny and Binny Sebastian largely had a long-distance romance, before they got married. The Kudumbavilakku serial actor first became friends with Binny, who debuted in Mammootty-starrer Thoppil Joppan, on social media. The couple shares with us their love story and how life is post marriage.
How it startedBinny: Our relationship began on social media, while he was working in Dubai, and I was a student in China.
We started as friends and then, he proposed. We met for the first time at Cochin airport when I returned from China in 2016, almost a year after our relationship began.
Long distance relationshipWith Noobin based in Munnar and
Binny in Kottayam, they met rarely in the years that followed, as they were in different places.
Noobin: It was a very secret relationship and our parents knew nothing about it. When they did learn of it, there was so much pushback. Her parents were reluctant. Then, Covid struck. Somehow, after that, the families were more receptive to the idea and we got married. Now, her family is very close to me.
Binny agrees. "Now they call him more than they call me," she says.
Spending time togetherNoobin: We rarely get off work together. When we do, the first thing we do is to go to the mall for shopping, to play some games or watch a movie.
Binny: We also have another regular dinner joint, a restaurant in Kazhakkoottam. If we feel like a long drive, we go to Varkala.

The TV couple in traditional wear
Their romance and life post-marriageBinny: We didn’t have a movie romance and neither of us are very romantic. Mutual care is our love language, I guess. From making me a coffee, to packing my snacks when I go for a shoot, he does everything he can with great care. When we do fight, we make up immediately
Noobin: Binny is the planner among us; about our future, savings, getting settled and our life going forward. I go with the flow. We balance each other in many ways. We want to move to a house of our own
A reel sagaThe couple often accompany each other for shoots. "One month after our wedding, he had an album shoot with another actress as his pair. I made a funny reel saying this is how I feel as a wife watching, with the track Enthu Vidiyithu. It went viral. Now, the same makers have invited me to do an album paired with a different actor. We have come full circle," says Binny (laughs). Noobin chips in, "This time, I am the driver."
