No regrets over lip lock scene: Honey Rose

A recently released trailer of upcoming film 1 by Two has been creating waves. The trailer features a scene where actors Honey Rose and Murali Gopy engage in a steamy lip lock. Mollywood has seen such scenes before, in Chappa Kurishu and later in Annayum Rasoolum, which featured Remya Nambeesan and Andrea Jeremiah, respectively.
However, most actors are still reluctant when it comes to actually going for a lip lock.So what made Honey decided to give it a go? “Firstly, I have never been bothered about maintaining a particular image. I know what I am and am more concerned about portraying a character accurately than anything else,” she says and adds, “If such a scene will complete the character, I have absolutely no issues going for it.” She says there was absolutely no discomfort shooting for the scene since Murali Gopy has been an amazing co-star. “He tells you very clearly what is needed in every scene, and that helps.”
Honey plays a doctor, Dr Prema in the film. “She is an ordinary woman, educated and mature. She is single, and in love, but even without her realising it, her life turns topsy turvy, following certain events. I’m afraid that’s all I can reveal now,” says the actress.
“1 by Two is a psychological thriller, and it was difficult to understand the different layers. However, as the shoot progressed, my character became one of the least stressful I have ever portrayed,” she says. So she has no regrets doing the scene? “Absolutely not. As an actor, I’m very happy with my character. But as a person, yes, I’m tense about the outcome.”
