Njan Marykutty poster doesn't have a face in UAE, guess the reason!

, when screened in the UAE, will not have Jayasurya's face in the posters.

The reason? UAE still has not allowed sex reassignment surgery yet. The new poster has just a faceless form in place of the protagonist's picture. The director, Ranjith Sankar, confirms the news. "There are other restrictions as well, and no promotions of the film will be allowed.The film has also been tagged 18 plus in the UAE," he says.

Well, you never realise the value of freedom, until you lose it, as they say. While India still doesn't allow same sex marriage or relationships, sex change surgery is perfectly legal, and many have already undergone it. Njan Marykutty revolves around the life of a transwoman and the film speaks about her struggles, and how she decides to take on opposition in her stride.
