Nivin Pauly-Abrid Shine announce third film together

The hit-making pair of director Abrid Shine and actor Nivin Pauly, who have delivered a couple of the biggest commercial successes with

1983

and

Action Hero Biju

, are coming together for a third venture.

The magic of the Abrid-Nivin combo is not only about box office success, but also about films with a whole host of loveable, relatable and comic characters, and the upcoming project will be the same, says the director. Speaking about the film, which is currently in pre-production, Abrid says, “We are expecting to start the shoot in January. It is an innovative story laced with humour and we are scouting the ideal location for it. The female lead has not been fixed yet.”

Nivin had won the Kerala State Award for his role as a passionate cricket fan in 1983. Abrid, who co-scripted it with Bipin Chandran, had also won the State Award for Best Debut Director. A

casting call

has been announced on the director’s social media page for male and female parts between the ages of 20 to 55 in the upcoming film, which is also being produced by Nivin.

The actor is currently shooting for another of his productions, titled Kanakam Kamini Kalaham, directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, also featuring Grace Antony in the lead.

Abrid’s last film, released earlier this year, was a martial arts revenge drama titled The Kung Fu Master, featuring Neeta Pillai and Jiji Scaria in the lead roles.
