Nishanth Sattu's debut with Asif is a psychological thriller

Nishanth Sattu's directorial debut A Ranjith Cinema is a psychological thriller. Having worked as an associate of Shafi, he was part of movies like Thommanum Makkalum and Chattambinadu.

While tight-lipped about the plot, the director says, "It's a story set in an urban background and we get to see a screenplay and making, that is yet to be attempted in Malayalam. Almost 70 percent of the film was shot on the road," he says, about the shoot in that took place in Thiruvananthapuram.

Asif Ali plays the protagonist in the film, which has Saiju Kurup and Anson Paul in equally important roles. Namita Pramod, Jewel Mary and Hannah Reji Koshy play important women characters.

About the change in what the Malayali audience accepts now, he says, "I feel that if it's good, conventional movies will also work. We are back to the word of mouth publicity era where people seek the opinion of others who have watched rather than rely on social media promotions."

He further spoke about the film. "There is both romance and thriller elements in the film. The film follows an unpredictable path and the distinctive screenplay contributes to this unpredictability. It's a risk we are taking with hopes that it will be well received," he says.

Midhun Ashokan has done music for the film while Sunoj Velayudhan is the cinematographer.
