Actor Vinayakan’s latest controversial comments following the demise of former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy have irked not just the public but everyone in the Malayalam entertainment industry as well. Actor-dancer Niranjana Anoop has now penned an apology note as a reaction to Vinayakan’s latest statement.

Niranjana Anoop stated that it was ‘extremely disgraceful and disappointing’ that such statements have come from the actor, who is also a part of the industry she works in.

In the note shared on Instagram, Niranjana Anoop said, "Apologies to the public and all citizens who have been hurt by some very harsh statements made by an Actor from the industry that I too work in. It was extremely disgraceful and disappointing coming from him. I wanted to put this here with all due love and respect to the dearly departed soul and glorious leader. Aathmashanthi."

Former Kerala CM and veteran politician Oommen Chandy (79) passed away on Tuesday (July 18). The state was in official mourning for two days. Vinayakan appeared on a Facebook live video, wherein the actor expressed displeasure over the wide coverage of Oommen Chandy’s demise and funeral. In the video, Vinayakan is seen sarcastically asking, Who was Oommen Chandy? Vinayakan’s derogatory comments have landed him in trouble, and the Ernakulam Town North police have registered a case against him for the video.
