Lena, who played mental hospital a staff in the recently released ‘Athiran’, spoke in an interview about how she had herself wanted to do research in psychology after doing a post graduation in clinical psychology, but abandoned her plans in favour of films.
She had received her first role in director Jayaraj’s ‘Sneham’ followed by a few other films, but felt that perhaps this wasn’t the career for her.

But after giving up several plump offers to study and work in Mumbai, she was feeling an ennui creep in when she got a call to act in a serial. She was thrilled and jumped at the offer. She next gave up acting to get married, and again when she got a casting call more than half a year later for ‘Big B’, she decided that she would not leave the industry again, said the actress.
