South cinema’s hottest couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are sealing their six years of courtship and love with marriage. The couple is tying the knot on June 9, in a star-studded ceremony held at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. The who’s who of cinema, and politics will be gracing the wedding and the couple has signed the deal with an OTT giant to exclusively cover the event. As the lovely couple is set to embark on a new journey, let’s take a look at why Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are truly a match made in heaven.

Nayanthara’s ardent admirer
Vignesh Shivan first met superstar Nayanthara for narrating his script. He was an ardent fan of Nayanthara and wanted to make a movie featuring her as the protagonist. Vignesh Shivan was only a movie old in the industry, however, when he got an interesting topic, he decided to approach Nayanthara and ask her if she would like to headline it. Nayanthara, who as always was a busy bee was touched by the newbie director’s vision. Nayanthara signed Vignesh Shivan’s second directorial ‘Naanum Rowdydhaan’, and it went on to become a blockbuster.

Friends first, lovers later
During the filming of ‘Naanum Rowdydhaan’, Vignesh Shivan was awed by Nayanthara’s diligence and passion for cinema. The duo spent a lot of time on the sets together. The superstar herself was stunned by Vignesh Shivan’s dedication to the cinema, and they had a lot in common. The professional rapport went on to become a camaraderie, and later their bond grew stronger and they fell in love.
