Sagar, associate director of
Lenin Rajendran who worked with Nayana since 2010 recollects about the strong persona she had.
"I first met Nayana during Edavapathy’s shoot. I was associating Lenin sir and soon Nayana became one among us. She used to introduce me as her cousin or brother to others as we were very close, and she was like my little sister.
She might have looked tiny, but she was a bold girl and a fighter. Her confidence levels were amazing. I believe, that is precisely why she managed to come from a small place like Alappad and reach so far at a very young age. She was independent and we used to rely on her to get things that seemed impossible, done.
She was like a daughter to Lenin sir. Through the gurukul system she followed, I saw her growing up as a filmmaker and I could see it when she was directing the movie Pakshikalude Maanam.

We were both disturbed when Lenin sir left us unexpectedly. On the day of his demise, we both ignored each other as we didn’t know how to handle it. And later when we met, we both broke down and she cried telling me that she has no clue on what to do next. Later, I also got to know that she wasn’t eating much and was even hospitalised due to weakness.
However, we all knew that life must go on and Nayana was preparing to direct a movie. And we were all sure that Nayana who was like a shadow to Lenin sir will also overcome the sorrow soon when she got engrossed in work. She was full of dreams.
I am really shattered as I lost a sister and a dad. I am trying to find peace now and I am sure Nayana might have met Lenin sir in a parallel world and might have already started discussing about the next project.
