Navya Nair, who recently made her second innings in cinema with ‘Oruthee’ has signed her next. The Kerala state award-winning actress is reuniting with her ‘Oruthee’ co-star Saiju Kurup for the upcoming film. The yet-to-be-titled film went on floors on Thursday (Nov 10). The upcoming film will be helmed by Aneesh Upasana, who has previously directed films like ‘Matinee’, ‘Seconds’ and ‘Popcorn’. The film is backed by the makers of ‘Uyare’.
Saiju Kurup took to his social media handle to announce the film. “Rolling today onwards,” he captioned, sharing a picture from the location.
Navya Nair and Saiju Kurup played an on-screen couple in the former’s comeback movie ‘Oruthee’ which was directed by VK Prakash. The film featured Navya Nair as Radhamani, a ticket collector in a government boat, who goes through some unprecedented incidents. ‘Oruthee’ marks Navya Nair’s re-entry into movies after about seven years.
On the work front, Saiju Kurup was last seen in 'Saturday Night' starring Nivin Pauly. He essayed the role of Justin in the film. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, ‘Saturday Night’ told the story of four friends - Stanley, Justin, Ajith, and Sunil, who are best friends since childhood. The film also had actors Aju Varghese, Siju Wilson, Grace Antony, and, Saniya Iyappan in pivotal roles. The film hit the theatres last Friday (Nov 4), and is running successfully.
