National Film Awards: Rajkumar Rao reacts on Newton winning the Best Hindi Film Award

The 65th National Film Awards were announced today and the jury head Shekhar Kapur started off saying how Bollywood movies aren't as meritorious as the regional language movies of the country. However, he did laud the film Newton, which had Rajkumar Rao in the lead role.

On the film winning the National Award, Rajkumar later told us, "It's a huge achievement for all of us.Newton is such a unique and a special film for all of us. It's a film which has been made with so much purity and honesty, witout keeping any commercial aspects in mind." He played the main character of Newton Kumar in the film, who is a rookie government clerk on reserve.
The comedy drama also stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil and Raghubir Yadav.
