Mammootty’s much-awaited film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, directed by
Lijo Jose Pellissery has hit the big screens today (Jan 19). The
Mammootty starrer, which earned praise at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is finally out for the audience to enjoy, and the initial reports are quite impressive.
Movie buffs are amazed by Mammootty’s acting chops and are in awe of his ‘brilliant’ performance.
“#LJP's fantasy element fascinates the audience with an ample amount of humour. #Mammookka switches between characters with so much ease and mastery. Wide screenshots and Tamil references add finishing touches to an above-average first half,” a Twitter user said.
The tweet further reads, “#Mamookka is brilliant as Sundaram & James. The use of Tamil classics at crucial junctions intensifies those sequences. Yes, the climax is perceivable for the common audience this time around. Thumbs up to a neat drama. A winner 🏆 #Mammootty 🔥.”
Another Twitterati stated that the lack of subtitles was a concern, “Lack of subtitles for #Tamil dialogues is chipping away at the enjoyment. Please don't assume everyone understands Tamil. Waiting for the second half to begin. #NanpakalNerathuMayakkam.”
A Twitter user has called ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ a ‘must watch’ film, and also stated that it caters to all kinds of audiences. “‘Mammookka started 2023 in style 🔥😎 Mammootty - LJP Combination!! ❤️💯 #NanpakalNerathuMayakkam is a Must Watch for all type of audience 👌,” the netizen wrote.
Another cinephile was absolutely blown away by the film and Mammootty’s metamorphosis. “#NanpakalNerathuMayakkam - Superb one from #Mamookka - #LJP 👏 @mammukka lived as Sundaram 👏 Award winning performance 👏 LJP making 👏 BGM sinking with old Tamil songs need special claps… A CLASS ONE from LJP Mammootty team, GO FOR IT,” the tweet read.
‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ tells the story of a group of Malayali travellers returning to Kerala by bus after their visit to Velankanni. They doze off in a lazy nap after lunch, and James parks the bus in a village in Tamil Nadu, and things go haywire.
The film also has Ramya Pandian, Ashokan, Kainakary Thankaraj, T Suresh Babu, Chethan Jayabal, Ashwath Ashokkumar, Rajesh Sharma, Thennavan, Pramod Shetty and Geethi Sangeetha in some prominent roles.
