As Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Nadikar’ wrapped up its second week in the cinemas, the film is finding it hard to earn solid figures at the box office. On Thursday, May 16, which marked its fourteenth day since hitting the silver screens, ‘Nadikar’ earned Rs 1 lakh in net collections from India, as reported by Sacnilk. The new releases like Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph's ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil,’ along with Ratheesh Balakrishna Poduval's ‘Sureshinteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hridayahariyaya Pranayakatha’ have adversely affected the box office figures of Tovino’s film.

‘Nadikar’, which revolves around the life of David Padikkal, a movie star, is directed by Lal Jr. The film, despite its thematic depth and Tovino Thomas' commendable performance, is struggling to maintain momentum in the face of stiff competition. While its initial reception was decent, the film’s trajectory at the box office looks disappointing.

Starring Tovino Thomas, the film also has Soubin Shahir, Bhavana Menon, Suresh Krishna, and Balu Varghese in pivotal roles.

ETimes rated ‘Nadikar’ 3 out of 5 and wrote, “Jean Paul Lal's Nadikar starts off with the lavish and extravagant life of a 'superstar' David Padikkal. There is humor and some foreshadowing, some of it effective and some so hard to catch. Interestingly, it's not as angsty as one might expect with such a subject. The writing is very sloppy in places, and some minor details were off-putting. This film is by no means a masterpiece, but it is an entertainer.”
