We have seen Mythili in de-glam and bold roles in her earlier ventures. Now we hear that the actress will play 10 different characters in her next, which is touted to be a film with dark humour titled Godsay. “Mythili plays a theatre student, Magdalena Gomez, and in each scene, she will play different characters on stage,” says one of its directors, Sheri Govindan.
He adds that her character is someone who loves to wear costumes of fictional characters in real life. “She plays contrasting characters on stage. For instance, if in one scene Mythili appears as Rachel, a call girl and lover of renowned artist Vincent Van Gogh, in the next scene she will appear as Kannaki, who is eulogized as the epitome of chastity. She also portrays Desdemona (the character in Shakespearean play Othello). However, in the second half of the movie, she will be seen only as Kasturba Gandhi,” says the director.
Vinay Forrt, the protagonist in the film, will play Harishchandran, who is the host of a show called Gandhimargam in Akashavani. The programme, based on Gandhian ethics and values, influences Harischandran deeply and that forms the plot, he says. The movie, which is based on TN Prakashan’s short story Gandhimargam, has Shyju as one of its directors.
The movie has Thalasserry, Kozhikode and Thrissur as its locations. It will hit the screens in August.
