Murali Gopy fondly remembers his legendary father's compliments

Actor-screenwriter Murali Gopy spoke about how his father, legendary actor Bharat Gopy, was the first to tell him that he could act.

“We had to be able to decipher his appreciation,” Murali said about his father, adding that he was never effusive in his compliments, but would just give a pat on the back.

He reminisced that one of the first moments he got the “pat” was when he read out a story he had written, and Bharat Gopy was pleasantly surprised and said, “Oh, you write?” He also used to like it when Murali did mimicry. “He was the best, he is my favourite,” he said, adding that his father would tell him that he was amazed when he told Murali that he had a knack for acting.
