Mrudula says, 'I can't reveal much about my role, but can say that I play Devika Raghavendra, a youngster who ends up in a forest due to certain reasons. Once in the woods, she meets the film's title character Sikhamani, a railway gangman, played by Chemban Vinod. I decided to pick the role as it has many interesting shades to it and ample scope for performance.'
Sikhamani's director Vinod Guruvayoor says that Mrudula's character ends up in the forest following a crucial turn of events in the film. 'Mrudula's natural looks suited Devika's character so we decided to keep it as it is for the movie. That said, the character calls for a strong performance,' says the filmmaker. The movie has Cumbum, Palakkad, Theni, Kodaikanal and a few other border areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu as its main locations.
