Movie review highlights: Thrissivaperoor Kliptham

The first half of Asif Ali-Aparna Balamurali-Chemban Vinod movie Thrissivaperoor Kliptham builds up slow with fresh characters. The director of the film, Rathiesh Kumar spends most part of the first half fleshing out his characters. Chemban Vinod plays David Pauly, a macho leader of a gang comprising Irshad and Dr Rony. Their rival and former classmate Joy, played by Baburaj, keeps them on their toes.
Asif plays Girija Vallanbhan, a native of Thrissur and desperate youth who is yet to experience the joys of life.His chance encounter with David and his gang, has him wanting to be part of the gang. Aparna Balamurali gets a power-packed intro as a bold auto-rickshaw driver who wields a hockey stick to beat up evil men. Rathiesh's role reversal of the hero and heroine also lends a touch of freshness to the subject set in Thrissur. Once the characters are moulded and the story gets a direction, the film suddenly kicks up a gear.
At the interval, the film is nicely setup for more dramatic and fun events to follow...
