‘Jallikattu’ kicks off its frenzied run to the Oscars

Malayalam film ‘Jallikattu’, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery was selected as India’s official entry to the 93rd Academy Awards! ‘The film was selected from the 27 entries to contend in the Best International Feature Film category, an undeniably proud moment for Malayalam cinema.‘Jallikattu’ also became the third Malayalam film to be selected for the Oscars race. The Academy Awards will be held on April 25, next year and we hope that the buffalo and its frenzy run bags the top honours.

Harisree Ashokan’s son and popular actor Arjun Ashokan is a dad now. Arjun and his wife Nikhita Ganesh welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on Wednesday. “Our princess has arrived. Aishwarya Lekshmi signed her next with Nirmal Sahadev. The actress will be playing the lead character in the upcoming mythological thriller ‘Kumari’. The film is set against the backdrop of some folklore and myth. The actress shared that she was thrilled to join the team as the story has already given her sleepless nights. Written and directed by Nirmal Sahadev, the film is produced by Giju John, Nirmal Sahadev, Jakes Bejoy, and Sreejith Sarang under the banner of The Fresh Lime Sodas.
‘Aaraattu’ shoot progresses

The filming of Mohanlal’s ‘Aarattu’ began on November 23, with the team getting the cameras rolling in Palakkad. Shraddha Srinath who is playing the leading lady also joined the team. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, the film will see Mohanlal essaying the role of Neyyattinkara Gopan. ‘Pulimurugan’ scenarist Udayakrishna is scripting the film.
‘Sunny’ teaser

The teaser of Jayasurya’s upcoming film ‘Sunny’ was launched this week. Written and directed by Ranjith Sankar, the film will see Jayasurya in the titular. The teaser received a massive response from cinephiles. Popular lensman Madhu Neelakandan has been roped in for the project that will be produced by Jayasurya and Ranjith Sankar under the banner of Dreams N Beyond.
