Madhu, a tribal man from Attapadi, met a fatal end after around 15 odd men chose to take law into their hands when they found him under ‘suspicious’ circumstances. Kerala woke up to this extremely distressing news, and Malayalis were left in great shock.
Social media has been flooded by condolence messages for the deceased and this incident has stirred the concept of how this is not how a Malayali should or would respond.
Actors from the Malayalam film industry also joined the brigade and also condemned the entire turnout of events. Actor
Mammootty posted a touching long note asking people to not call Madhu a tribal, but to call him his younger brother, something we would all feel when looked with a humanist’s point of view.
Below is what he posted:-

Tovino Thomas also took to social media to express his outrage about the way civilians react. He said as long as people do not understand the value of being a human and the importance of having the basic compassion for fellow beings, things won’t change.

Actor Sunny Wayne shared an illustration of Madhu on his social networking page, and even apologised for the same, probably because traces of humanity are slowly fading away.
