Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum’ set for April 25 release

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has officially announced that his upcoming film ‘Thudarum’ will hit theatres on April 25. The much-anticipated movie, directed by Tharun Moorthy, brings together Mohanlal and veteran actress Shobana in a film that promises a blend of humor, suspense, and heartfelt nostalgia.

Taking to his X handle, the 64-year-old actor shared the film's release date with a cryptic and exciting caption: "You've heard the whispers. You've felt our arrival. It's time to drive it home. 'Thudarum' arrives on April 25th. #ThudarumOnApril25."

Mohanlal as a taxi driver

Directed by Tharun Moorthy, known for acclaimed films like Saudi Vellakka and Operation Java, Thudarum sees Mohanlal in the role of Shanmugham, a seasoned taxi driver who shares a deep emotional bond with his Ambassador car. The film’s screenplay is penned by Moorthy along with KR Sunil, and features a stellar cast including Shobana and Maniyanpilla Raju.

An impressive trailer

The recently released trailer for ‘Thudarum’ has already captured the attention of audiences, offering glimpses of vintage Mohanlal-Shobana magic. It opens with a humorous exchange between Mohanlal and Maniyanpilla Raju, setting the stage for the film’s lighthearted moments. When Shanmugham fondly recalls his school days, Raju’s character cheekily responds, “As if you have seen the inside of a school,” immediately drawing chuckles.

Yet, the tone of the trailer shifts as tension builds. Shobana’s character issues a chilling warning: “If that person gets his hands on his car, he will go mad!” This line hints at the suspenseful undercurrent driving the film’s narrative.

‘Thudarum’ appears to be more than just a light-hearted drama laced with a compelling mystery.
