Mohanlal's 'Oppam' not competing in National Awards?

Megastar Mohanlal's investigative thriller 'Oppam,' directed by Priyadarshan, had won the hearts of audience across South India.
The movie and it's character were also apparently among the finalists in the recently announced Kerala State Film Awards. Now we hear that however, the film will not compete in the National Film Awards for the year.
'Oppam' will not seek an entry into the competition apparently because the film's director Priyadarshan is heading the award jury.Recently he revealed to us that around 380 films are in the run for the national awards in 2017.
