Mohanlal’s ‘Barroz’ wraps up the shoot

Finally, the audience is one step closer to witnessing the directorial talent of the legendary Mollywood actor Mohanlal as his maiden directorial venture ‘Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ has wrapped up the shoot on the last day.

Mohanlal took to his official Twitter handle to announce the happy news to his fans. ‘Ram’ actor shared a picture with the whole crew of his maiden directorial venture and penned a note that read, “This is Team Barroz signing off from the location. And now... the wait begins!” The post was soon flooded with comments from fans who were all enthralled at seeing an exciting update from the most anticipated upcoming movie of Mohanlal.

Helmed by Mohanlal, ‘Barroz’ was announced via the actor’s blog post which was titled ‘A new journey begins Barroz Guardian of D’Gama’ Treasure’. The film comes in 3D and will be released via a popular international platform and Mohanlal reportedly said that ‘Barroz’ will be an unusual film.

Scripted by ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’ fame Jijo Punnoose, ‘Barroz’ tells the story of a spirit who is assigned the duty of protecting D’Gama’s treasure. Although the shooting of the film began in 2019, due to Covid issues, the project was delayed and was restarted in February 2022 with major cast changes including replacing the actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shayla McCaffrey.

Mohanlal plays the titular role in ‘Barroz’ and the rest of the cast includes a majority of foreign actors. ‘Sex and Lucia’ fame Paz Vega will be playing a pivotal role in the film and the rest of the cast includes the actors Guru Somasundaram, Maya, Komal Sharma, and Tuhin Menon.
