Mohanlal welcomes Chingam 1; sends wishes for his admirers

‘The Complete Actor’ Mohanlal welcomes the Malayalam new year, Chingam 1. Keralites consider the first day of Malayalam month Chingam as the New Year. Chingam is regarded as an auspicious month as it is the beginning of harvest season, which brings prosperity and luck. Mohanlal took to his social media handle to greet Keralites on this auspicious occasion. “Let us welcome this New Year with the strength of survival and unity.Heartfelt New Year greetings to all # Chingam1,” Mohanlal tweeted, extending his warm greetings for his admirers.

Chingam is also more special for Keralites as Onam falls under the same month. According to Hindu tradition, Onam is a harvest festival.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mohanlal's recent outing was Siddique’s directorial ‘Big Brother’. He was filming for ‘RAM’ before lockdown. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the movie is reportedly made on a massive budget and has some stellar cast including Adil Hussain and Trisha in pivotal roles. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the makers had to call for a temporary halt.
Mohanlal’s most ambitious upcoming movie ‘Marakkar Arabikkadalinte Simham’ release was also postponed due to the pandemic. The movie was slated to release on March 26, but the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 and the following lockdown forced the makers to postpone the release.
The actor will be filming for ‘Drishyam 2’ by next month. The movie is a sequel to the 2013 movie. Mohanlal will be reprising Georgekutty in the movie, and the team is planning to kickstart the shoot anytime soon.
