Superstar Mohanlal welcomed the new year 2023 with filmmaker Bhadran, with whom he delivered the blockbuster ‘Spadikam’ in 1995, which is also gearing up for re-release. The superstar kickstarted the first day of 2023, cutting a cake with Bhadran. The filmmaker has shared a few glimpses of their meeting on social media. He shared that his new year began on a sweet note. In the pictures, Mohanlal is seen cutting the cake and having it with Bhadran. The superstar’s wife Suchitra is also present in the pictures.

‘Spadikam’ helmed by Bhadran, featuring Mohanlal is getting a re-release after 27 years of its initial release. The film has got a 4K Dolby Atmos makeover, and will be hitting the big screens on February 9, 2023. “My Aduthoma, which you have always held close to your heart, is re-releasing with all the new age technical excellence as you wished. ‘Spadikam’ 4k Atmos hits the theaters worldwide on February 9, 2023,” Mohanlal said, while announcing the release date.
One of the highest-grossing films of 1995, ‘Spadikam’ revolves around a father, who is a mathematician, and his son Aadu Thoma. Thespian late Thilakan essayed the role of the father Chacko, and Mohanlal stepped into the shoes of the son. The film has a cult status, even 27 years after its initial release, and the movie buffs in Kerala are excited about the re-release.
On the work front, Mohanlal will be soon joining the sets of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s directorial ‘Malaikottai Valiban’. The film is expected to start rolling towards the third week of January, this year.
