Mohanlal to mentor Indrajith

After Salt N’ Pepper and Kammath and Kammath, here comes another movie to woo foodies. Rajeev Nath’s Rasam, scripted by Sudeep Kumar, revolves around restaurants and catering services.Mohanlal and Indrajith, who shared screen space in movies like Twenty20, Flash, Chotta Mumbai and Baba Kalyani, will team up in this movie as well.
The story, which takes place in Dubai, has Indrajith in the lead.He plays a Namboodiri cook in the film. “A traditional dehannakaaran (cook), who runs a popular catering service in Kerala, is invited by a Dubai-based family to cook for a wedding there. The plot revolves around the cook’s son, played by Indrajith, who tags along with his father for the same,” says the David and Goliath director.
Mohanlal reportedly plays a character role in the film. “Mohanlal has a pivotal role in Rasam, as he is the one who mentors Indrajith in his work at the wedding in Dubai,” says Rajeev.
The team is hunting for a fresh face to play the female lead. However, Rajeev says, “It’s not a hero-heroine story. It will be based on food and the characters revolving around it.” Rasam will be shot mostly in Dubai, with a few scenes canned in Kerala.
