Mohanlal to inaugurate RIFFK on April 1 in Kochi

The Regional International Film Festival of Kerala (RIFFK) will commence on April 1 in Kochi, and Mohanlal will be inaugurating the festival. The five-day-long film festival is scheduled to be held from the 1st of April to the 5th.

Rehana Maryam Noor

’ directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad is selected as the opening film of RIFFK 2022. The film explores Bangladeshi society, through the eyes of

, a single mother and an assistant professor at a medical college. ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ was the first Bangladeshi film to screen in the Un Certain Regard section at the Festival de Cannes, and the film was also the Bangladeshi entry in the Best International Feature Film category at the 94th Academy Awards.

About 70 films including 'Clara Sola', the Costa Rican entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards, the restored ‘Kummatty’, helmed by iconic filmmaker G Aravindan, Jayaraj’s ‘Shantham’, will be screened at RIFFK 2022.

Meanwhile, RIFFK 2022 will also be paying homage to the veteran actors late KPAC Lalitha and late Nedumudi Venu.
