Mohanlal to dub in Telugu and Tamil

It’s been seven months since the release of a Mohanlal movie in Mollywood.

His last release was Kanal and what has kept the superstar busy for the most part of this year has been his Tollywood projects Manamantha and Janatha Garage.
We recently got to know his roles in both the films, which will also be released in Malayalam and Tamil. In director Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s Manamantha, which is titled as Vismayam in Malayalam, the actor will be seen as an assistant manager of a supermarket, informs a source close to the production unit.
“He plays a down-to-earth, middle-class man. What sets his character apart is that he has strong principles and is not willing to forgo them for small gains in life,” says the source, adding that the movie revolves around the lives of four characters played by Mohanlal, Tamil actress Gauthami and two newcomers.

Meanwhile, in Janatha Garage, the actor will be playing brother to Rahman’s character. He will be essaying two phases of the character’s life, informs director Koratala Siva. “He is an expert mechanic and runs a car workshop. But he’s the kind who not only repairs cars but also people, metaphorically speaking. He, along with Rahman’s character, fight social evils,” he explains.

The actor, who is now in Ooty shooting for Priyadarshan’s Oppam, will join Janatha Garage’s final schedule on June 15. “The upcoming schedule will have him in a few sequences with NTR Jr and Unni Mukundan,” Siva adds. Currently, the two Tollywood ventures are slotted to hit theatres in July and August, respectively. Mohanlal will dub for both movies in all the three languages and this could pose a challenge for the actor, considering the time constraints.

The source from 'Vismayam' tells us, “Right now the plan is to finish the dubbing of all versions of the movie in Hyderabad while he is shooting for Janatha Garage.” Mohanlal’s next Malayalam release will be Vysakh’s Pulimurugan, which, the actor had previously told us, will be dubbed in Tamil,
