Mohanlal’s most anticipated upcoming film, ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban', is set to release in cinemas next week. Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, the film is set to hit the big screens on January 25. An industry source has confirmed that the censorship process for the film has been completed. According to the source, the film has been censored with a U/A certificate.
Helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ is one of the biggest releases in 2024. In a recent exclusive interview with ETimes, Siddharth Anand Kumar divulged that the film is high on action: “‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ has the kind of action the audiences haven’t seen from Mohanlal. It's one of a kind!” And the recent censoring reports confirm that the film is set to give the audience an adrenaline rush!
He also told us, “We cannot wait to show the audience the world Lijo (Jose Pellissery) has created. The very idea behind the film is interesting. I have always been a fan of Lijo’s films. All the films he has made follow unique filmmaking styles and genres. What compelled us as a team was the vision Lijo had for ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban. It is the kind of epic story we have grown up reading, but it is outside of the mythological space. It could very well be a mythological story, but it's not—that was very intriguing for us. As producers, we feel that he was making it at a very fair price for the kind of film he was attempting. There is both adventure for the filmmaker and safety on the financial side. ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’ is Lijo Jose Pellissery’s creative adventure," she tells us.
