Mohanlal performs stunts minus body double

Mohanlal loves action and the actor apparently goes the extra mile to get the fight sequences right in his films. Currently, it is for Joshiy’s Lailaa O Lailaa that the actor is shooting stunt scenes minus a body double.Though some portions of the film were shot earlier, the action scenes were left to be shot as the superstar was undergoing treatment for leg pain.
Suresh Nair, the scriptwriter of the film, says, “Mohanlal loves to do action sequences, so we waited for him to get into action mode to start the shoot.” Two action sequences were shot in Kochi recently; the major action scenes will be shot in Bengaluru. Speaking about Mohanlal’s commitment towards work, the scriptwriter says, “Every stunt is equally risky but Mohanlal does it with ease, like a trained martial artiste, which is amazing. The movie has a lot of hand-to-hand combat scenes too.”
Stun Siva, who is the stunt master for various Tamil films, has been roped in to choreograph the stunts for the film. “While Joshiy sir loves shooting action sequences, Lal loves doing it, so it was great to work with the team,” adds Suresh.
Meanwhile, the scribe confirms that Lailaa O Lailaa is not just an action film, but there is a love story running parallel to it. “The action sequences play an integral part in the film and Amala, the female lead, too will be seen doing action.”
