Mohanlal meets Madhu on Father’s Day, says ‘he is a father figure’

Superstar Mohanlal visited veteran actor Madhu. On the occasion of Father’s Day, Mohanlal visited veteran actor Madhu, at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram. Mohanlal spend the day at the ‘Chemmeen’ actor’s residence and shared a picture taken during his visit. He also shared a heartwarming Malayalam note on meeting the legendary actor. Mohanlal’s note translates to, “Madhu sir has been my father on screen several times. He is a father figure for me in life. And guru in acting. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to visit him at his home in Thiruvananthapuram today, on the occasion of Father’s Day. A fruitful day.”


Every year, people across the world observe Father’s Day to celebrate fatherhood and the unconditional love and sacrifice they invest in. This year, on the occasion of Father’s Day, Mohanlal took to his social media handle to extend wishes. “Happy Father’s Day #FathersDay,” he penned.

Meanwhile, legendary actor Madhu is one of the most celebrated icons of Malayalam cinema. A multi-hyphenate, Madhu began his career as a Hindi lecturer. He was passionate about arts, especially cinema, and when he was offered a movie in 1963 he decided to give it a go. One of the leading figures in Malayalam cinema during its Golden era including the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, Madhu’s contribution to Indian cinema is unparalleled. He has headlined many classics including the iconic ‘Chemmeen’, the film that won the President's Gold Medal for the All India Best Feature Film in 1965! Madhu has won several awards including the National Film Award, the coveted JC Daniel Award for Lifetime Achievement from the Government of Kerala, several Kerala State Film Awards and Filmfare awards.
